To maintain uniformity and enhance the usability of government's websites, Department of Information and Communication Technology take the initiative to develop Common Template and Content Management System (CMS) exclusively for departments under the Government of Mizoram.
In the current scenario, websites maintained by Government departmens are not uniform in content as well as usability. The location of links and information in websites are not same across all these sites making it harder for visitors/citizen to find the targeted information. Also the content available on some of the government's websites are not in conformity with the guideline approved by DoIT.
Using Open Source Content Management System (CMS) for website development is very common all over the world and Government's websites are no exception to this. Though the cost of development of website using Open Source CMS is less and can be easily done by the less-tech-savyy staff, using open source CMS itself pose security risk to websites.
To address all the above mentioned issues, ICT Department took initiative to develop Common Template and Content Management System (CMS) which can be adopted by all departments under the Government of Mizoram and is now currently being in use in various departments websites.
